City Administrator Norman stated that is for the entire parcel. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted the City is only acquiring a 20-foot easement of about $6,000 for <br />each of the easements. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated he does not see a reason to acquire the entire parcel. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated a reason would be redevelopment, if that were to occur. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that is a policy decision and staff was directed to write letters. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated he thinks what will happen will happen, and he does not support buying the <br />entire parcel. <br /> <br />Councihnember Anderson asked if there was a possibility to lease it. She noted this whole area <br />will be developed and Highway 10 will not be moved for 10 years or so. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen asked about the condemnation of the easements. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich started if directed to proceed tonight by the Council then it would be <br />about 60 days. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated he sees no point in continuing to purchase the entire parcel. <br />Council consensus was reached to direct staff to not negotiate to purchase the entire parcel. <br /> <br />Case/ti: 2003 Budget <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated the budget book contains the raw numbers and requests with a <br />difference of about $1.1 million between revenues and expenditures. However, the City is not <br />certain what all the revenues are since the levy amount the State will allow is not yet known. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak arrived at 7:22 p.m. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund advised that it will be the end of August before that is known. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated staff wanted to get this budget information out to the Council <br />for review as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund reviewed the revenues and expenditures, noting a shortage of $1,166,278. <br />She explained the information provided on the requested items in the 2003 Capital Outlay of <br />$512,632.22. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked about the change in the radio system for the police. <br /> <br /> City Council Work Session/August 5, 2002 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
