<br />TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
<br /> Notice is hereby given 1hat the
<br />Ramsey City Council will hold a public
<br />hearing on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at
<br />7:00 p.m., al. Ramsey Fire Station No. 2,
<br /> 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW,
<br />Ramsey, MN 55303.
<br /> The purpose of the hearing is to con-
<br />sider an amendment to Chapter 3 of the
<br />Ramsey Home Rule Charter. With the
<br />establishment of wards, there is no
<br />longer a necessity for Councilmembers to
<br />act 'as precincl, liaisons. Residents may
<br />bring their local concerns to the
<br />Councilmember representing their ward.
<br />The proposed amendment would repeal
<br />the following: Section 3.2 Liaison
<br />Function which states "Councilmembers
<br />shall be assigned as liaison to necessary
<br />areas both internal and external to the
<br />city. These assignments shall be rotated
<br />periodically and shall involve no adminis-
<br />trative responsibility". And repeal
<br />Subsection 3.2.1. Precinct Liaison which
<br />states "Following the adoption of this
<br />charter, a system of yearly rotating
<br />precinct liaisons shall be established such
<br />that three of the four councilmembers
<br />will act as liaison for tile same precinct
<br />during his/tier full four-year term, nor
<br />shall any councilmember as liaison to the
<br />city at large for a period longer than one
<br />year during his/her i'ull year term.
<br /> Notwithstanding the above, it is not
<br />the intent of this proposed ordinance to
<br />repeal Subsection 3.2.2. Precinct
<br />Boundaries.
<br /> All interested persons are invited to
<br />attend the hearing and comment on the
<br />proposed Charter amendment. The City
<br />oI Ramsey complies with the Americans
<br />With Disabilities Act and upon advance
<br />re'quest, information will be provided in
<br />an alternative form and interpreters will
<br />be available. Any person with such a
<br />request should contact City Clerk Jo
<br />Thieling at 763-433-9840 by 5:00 p.m.
<br />on Tuesday, Augus't 13, 2002.
<br /> Written comments are welcome and
<br />shall be addressed to the Ramsey City
<br />Council, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW,
<br />Ramsey, MN 55303. Written comments
<br />shall be received af the above address
<br />prior to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August
<br />13, 2002.
