Regular Planning Commission <br />Meeting Date: 01/04/2018 <br />Submitted For: Tim Gladhill, Community Development <br />By: Eric Maass, Community Development <br />6. 1. <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Consider Sketch Plan Review for Affinity at Ramsey (Project #17-142); Case of Inland Group <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The City has a purchase agreement in place to sell about four (4) acres of land adjacent to Municipal Plaza for a <br />proposed residential apartment building (intended for 55+). The City has received an application for Sketch Plan <br />review of a new, 173-unit apartment building at the southwest corner of Ramsey Parkway and Center Street (the <br />"Subject Property"). The project would serve the 55+ demographic. <br />Notification: <br />No additional notification is required as a result of a sketch plan review; however Staff did notify residents within <br />700 feet of the Subject Property of the sketch plan review. A full public hearing will be held at the time of <br />Preliminary Plat. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />The Planning Commission should review and comment on the proposed site plan as well as the proposed <br />architectural features of the building. This feedback can be used by the Applicant to further refine their proposal as <br />necessary. <br />Funding Source: <br />All costs associated with this request are the responsibility of the Applicant. <br />Recommendation: <br />The Planning Commission should provide general feedback as it relates to the proposed project. The Developer is <br />requesting confirmation that the City agrees to the footprint of the building before they complete additional design. <br />The Staff Review Letter is attached for review.
