Watch the Candidate Forum. A Candidate Forum for the Special Primary Election for <br />Councilmember At Large Seat was hosted by League of Women Voters ABC on January 10. Colorful <br />display boards lined the halls of the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center as students from the University of Minnesota's <br />Resilient Communities Project showcased their class <br />projects at an Open House on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. <br />Over the course of the semester, these students have been <br />partnering with the City of Ramsey on various real world <br />projects that advance initiatives from the City's Strategic <br />Plan and Comprehensive Plan. The students' work <br />includes research, data collection, and more on a variety <br />of topics spanning from Transportation, to Economic <br />Development, and Natural Resources. To learn more <br />about the City's partnership with the University of Minnesota, visit w.w <br />with University of <br />oframsey.com/rcp. <br />Heart Safe Committee, Ramsey Lions, and Bystanders Recognized for Cardiac Arrest Save. <br />At the Council meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 Mayor Strommen and the Ramsey City <br />Council recognized the Heart Safe Ramsey Program, the Ramsey Lions and the bystanders who <br />took action to save a Ramsey man's life when he went into cardiac arrest at the Outpost Bar and <br />Grill in Ramsey on January 11. <br />Police Chief Jeff Katers highlighted the work of Heart Safe Champion Tim Hoffman and the <br />Ramsey Lions for their donation of the <br />automated external defibrillator (AED) that <br />saved the life of Ramsey resident, Mike Stueve. <br />He also thanked bystanders Amy Miller and <br />Jacob Lowe, for taking action to perform CPR <br />and utilize the AED that night. Chief Katers <br />presented Amy, who was in attendance, with a <br />Ramsey Heart Safe Life Saving Award. Survivor <br />Mike and his daughter Cami were also in <br />attendance. <br />91i, bduw <br />000InY h)9iluil1,1.. <br />Active in Ramsey since 2015, the Ramsey Heart Safe program has trained more than 1,400 people <br />in bystander CPR and located over 65 public use AEDs around our community. The Ramsey <br />Lions have purchased and donated a number of AEDs to the Ramsey Heart Safe Program, with <br />proceeds from their charitable pull tab sales.
