STEM -Based Incubators <br />Incubators can take many forms, and one example is an office space dedicated to the study of a specific field <br />like the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Research and Technology Park. The park specializes in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. Their vision is <br />to "serve as a catalyst for innovation in science and technology leading to discoveries that contribute to North <br />Dakota's economic development." The Park's dedication to technology is a unique asset that has helped the <br />Park thrive in the market. By fostering technologically focused initiatives, the park has been able to better <br />provide for both NDSU and their tenants. <br />The NDSU Research and Technology Park is separated into two distinct parts, the Park and the Incubator. <br />The park hosts four main tenants. These tenants are Appareo, an electronic and software manufacturer; <br />Candlewood Suites, a hotel chain; John Deere, a manufacturer of tractors and other farming equipment; <br />and NDSU, which holds offices and some land in reserve. The incubator currently serves eighteen different <br />businesses.
