Regular Planning Commission <br />Meeting Date: 02/01/2018 <br />Submitted For: Tim Gladhill, Community Development <br />By: Eric Maass, Community Development <br />5. 4. <br />Information <br />Title: <br />PUBLIC HEARING: Ordinance #18-001 Amending Lot Width Requirements for Cul-De-Sac lots in the R-1 Rural <br />Developing District <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is for the Planning Commission to review and consider a proposed amendment to reduce <br />the required lot width standards from 200 feet to 100 feet for lots zoned R-1 Rural Developing and located on a <br />Cul-De-Sac. <br />Notification: <br />City Staff published a notice of public hearing in the Anoka Union Herald, the City's official newspaper. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Alternative 1: Recommend adoption of Ordinance #18-01 amending the lot width requirement for lots zoned R-1 <br />Rural Developing and located on a cul-de-sac. The Planning Commission reviewed a proposal to amend the lot <br />width requirements for cul-de-sac lots in the R-1 Rural Developing district and directed staff to draft an ordinance <br />amendment accordingly. Staff supports this alternative. <br />Alternative 2: Recommend adoption of Ordinance #18-01 amending the lot width requirement for lots zoned R-1 <br />Rural Developing and located on a cul-de-sac with a revision to the suggested revised lot width of 100 feet. Staff is <br />not opposed to this alternative but does believe that a lot width of 100 feet is appropriate. <br />Alternative 3: Do not recommend adoption of Ordinance # 18-01. Staff does not support this alternative. <br />Funding Source: <br />Costs associated with this case are the responsibility of the City. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of Ordinance # 18-01 Amending the Lot Width Requirement for Cul-De-Sac lots in the <br />R-1 Rural Developing District. <br />Action: <br />Motion to recommend adoption of Ordinance # 18-01 Amending the Lot Width Requirement for Cul-De-Sac lots in <br />the R-1 Rural Developing District. <br />Attachments <br />Ordinance # 18-01 <br />Lot Widths on Cul-De-Sac (Rural Developing Lots) Purpose & Policy <br />December 7, 2017 Planning Commission Meeting Minutes (Draft) <br />
