Elvig 315 <br />Terry Hendriksen 194 <br />Michael Reeve 72 <br />Under-Voted 0 <br />Blank-Voted 39 <br />Over-Voted 0 <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired as to what happens with the under-votes. <br /> <br />City Clerk Thieling explained that if a person over-votes none of the results would count, but if <br />someone only votes for one candidate and they are supposed to vote for two, the one vote would <br />be counted. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to accept the results of the <br />2002 Primary Election. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gamec stated that he was somewhat disappointed with only *six <br />percent of the registered voters turning out to vote. City Clerk Thieling noted that the County <br />would be doing some research to compare the turnout to previous primaries. Councilmember <br />Zimmerman inquired as to what percent of the voters have typically voted during special <br />elections. City Clerk Thieling replied that she could research that information and report back to <br />the Council. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that it was his recollection that the voter turnout <br />on special elections ranged from 700 to 2000 voters for a single issue. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Anderson, <br />Hendriksen, and Kurak.
