draft Mississippi Recreational District Analysis. He stated his hope was to get planning direction <br />as to how the Commission would like to see this organized. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Youngblood Pointedout he had provided an Executive Summary, and <br />also a background of what Recreational Districts are. He stated there is also an introduction to <br />the municipal, parks in the area, and then pictures and nan'atives that would lead them through the <br />individual parks. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum stated that this is exactly the background information and 'What he had <br />been looking for in order to 'make intelligent decisions on priorities and what .needs to be done. <br />He suggested that this could be part of their web site. <br /> <br />Chair Johns stated that this was one of the biggest districts because of the Mississippi River and <br />all of the wayside rests and the county park, as well as their own little parks. She stated that they <br />would provide feedback after they had thoroughly read the packet. She asked whether the <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor could prox, ide one of these per month. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds stated he liked the format, and he suggested it could be used as a template <br />for the rest of the districts. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Youngblood stated he hoped that the table of contents was in general <br />order for these, and there should be other bullets included as well, such as significant County <br />road and street projects proposed. He stated if there are things highly likelY to occur, it should be <br />referenced because there may be a trail alongside it or it may relate to a street connection. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum stated they could bring'their comments back next month and decide what <br />needed to be refined at that time. <br /> <br />Chair Johns stated she would like to see another district analyzed for the meeting next month. <br />She stated that the information contained in the analysis could have a number of potential <br />audiences. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum stated they could finish this one at their next meeting, and he thought they <br />should hold off on dOing another one until this one was completed. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Youngblood stated he would appreciate getting feedback prior to the <br />next meeting. <br /> <br />There was a discussion regarding having seasonal pictures posted on the web site along With this <br />material. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds stated the trail was recently paved in Sunfish Village, and black dirt had <br />been dumped on the trail and it was all muddy. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/November 18, 2004 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
