Centra Homes Public Open House
February 01, 2018, Alexander Ramsey Room.
Estimated Attendance for this proiect:
• 10 people total
O 9 Ramsey residents (1 not)
O 4 Planning Commission Members (6 not)
Staff Summary of Feedback:
• All but one person was generally supportive of the project concept, specifically concept layout 3.
o They liked the connections for pedestrians.
o They liked the fronts of homes/ porches facing the public ROW; and that garbage and
cars would be located in the interior hidden private road.
o They liked the concept of a HOA maintained project —lawns/ streets.
o They generally liked the concept renderings provided.
o They felt this type of product was needed/ demand exists.
• One resident, located in the adjacent townhomes, was opposed to the project in general,
regardless of the layout.
o They felt a denser attached townhome project was warranted for this site, consistent with
the neighboring townhome developments, and that this project feels out of place.
o This particular resident was happy to hear the proposed Centra Homes project would
include a HOA.
• Residents did ask for the City to make sure the following items were generally addressed moving
forward in the process:
o Public safety access is sufficient and planned; including addressing road width
o Visitor parking is planned and sufficient
o Renderings of homes be adjusted to meet COR design standards (enough brick/ stone).
Specific Comments Placed on Concept Maps:
o Could it be townhomes to match neighborhood?
o Cul de sac is really awkward
o Where are fronts of homes?
o Concern for street width
o Concern for parking
o Concern for entrance of homes being essentially unused
■ Community center is essentially private road and driveways — lack of community seeing each
other, getting to know each other, etc.
■ Difficult to access front door from the driveway
o Parking — need more visitor parking
o Trail connecting through to the road seems better than it randomly ending
Page 1 of 2
