<br />Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #17-12-307 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE A CITY PLANNER IN COMMUITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> as a result of multiple budget discussions and feedback from staff, the City <br />Council included funds in the 2018 budget for additional staffing in Community Development; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> the new position will provide direct and indirect assistance with many of the <br />City’s strategic initiatives including but not limited to current development and long range <br />planning, implementation of the comprehensive plan and administration of the zoning and <br />subdivision regulations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> staff conducted five first interviews and two second interviews and selected <br />Ms. Chloe McGuire Brigl; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> Ms. McGuire Brigl has successfully passed the City’s backgrounding <br />process; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> staff recommends hiring Ms. McGuire Brigl. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution #17-12-307 to do the following: <br /> <br />Hire Ms. McGuire Brigl as a non-union, exempt employee; as City Planner, effective on <br />or near January 2, 2018 @ Step 3 of the City Planner wage scale of $5755 per month with <br />a 5-day vacation credit, and, subject to satisfactory performance, be advanced to step 3 of <br />the Senior Planner position effective January 2, 2020. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />LeTourneau, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />
