Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #18-043 RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL PAYMENT TO METRO UTILITIES, INC. FOR PROJECT #17-09, BUNKER LAKE BOULEVARD UTILITIES EXTENSION WHEREAS, when Bunker Lake Boulevard was extended west of Armstrong Boulevard in 2006, public utilities (sanitary sewer and watermain) were constructed to a point approximately 2,650 feet west of Bunker Lake Boulevard; and WHEREAS, public utilities were not constructed under the remaining 1,400 feet or so of Bunker Lake Boulevard, east of its intersection with Puma Street; and WHEREAS, the Riverstone residential development west of Puma Street is under construction and requires public utilities to serve the development; and WHEREAS, the existing public utilities under Bunker Lake Boulevard need to be extended through the intersection of Bunker Lake Boulevard and Puma Street to serve the Riverstone residential development; and WHEREAS, extending the public utilities will allow for development of other parcels abutting the west end of Bunker Lake Boulevard, and along Puma Street to Alpine Drive; and WHEREAS, on April 25, 2017 the City Engineer was ordered to prepare plans and specifications for extending public utilities to the west end of Bunker Lake Boulevard; and WHEREAS, on May 23, 2017, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisement for bids for said improvements; and WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted June 27, 2017 the bid of Metro Utilities, Inc. in the amount of $268,500.00 for the total bid is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, as of February 27, 2018, $254,055.65 has been paid to date; and WHEREAS, the Senior Engineering Technician has inspected the completed work and recommends final payment to Metro Utilities, Inc. in the amount of $16,277.35. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1)That the City Council hereby authorizes final payment to Metro Utilities, Inc. for Improvement Project #17-09, Bunker Lake Boulevard Utilities Extension in the amount of $16,277.35.
