<br />Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #18-020 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT TO SAUTER AND SONS FOR <br />DEMOLITION OF FORMER SUNFISH LAKE GAS STATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to a motion from the City Council on July 25, 2017, the City Council <br />authorized Hakanson Anderson to develop final plans and specifications and authorized <br />advertisement for quotes for said demolition project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />Hakanson Anderson’s estimated cost for said demolition project was <br />$75,000; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to a motion of the City Council adopted on October 10, 2017 the <br />quote of Sauter and Son’s in the amount of $44,800.00 for the total quote is the lowest responsible <br />quote; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to a motion of the City Council adopted on October 10, 2017 a <br />contract for said project was authorized to Sauter and Son’s in the amount of $44,800.00, and a <br />$7,500 project contingency was authorized, for a total project budget amount of $52,300; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, Field Change #1, in the amount of $4,998.00 covered the cost for <br />unanticipated fill due to foundation pieces larger than shown in plans; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, Field Change #2, in the amount of $1,054.10 covered the cost for disposing <br />of sludge; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, Field Changes totaled $6,052.10, increasing the total Sauter and Son’s <br />Contract to $51,302.10; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />as of January 9, 2018 zero payments have been made; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the Hakanson Anderson has inspected the completed work and recommends <br />final payment to Sauter and Son in the amount of $51,302.10. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council hereby authorizes final payment to Sauter and Sons for the demolition <br />of the former Sunfish Lake Gas Station in the amount of $51,302.10. <br /> <br />2) That the City Council hereby accepts the project and authorizes the Mayor or City <br />Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. <br /> <br />3) That the total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of <br />bills for the date January 23, 2018. <br /> <br /> <br />
