Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #18-038 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR IP#18-08, TROTT BROOK BOARDWALK WHEREAS, access to parks, natural resources, open space and recreation areas, are essential to the quality of life, health and welfare of city of Ramsey’s residents; and WHEREAS , the Trott Brook Boardwalk has been identified as a priority project within the City of Ramsey’s Captial Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, the boardwalk when complete will provide for the completion of a significant ‘gap’ in the Greenway system rerferred to as The Circle of Ramsey; and WHEREAS , on January 9th, 2018, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bids for said improvements; and WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on February 5, 2018, and the following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID MN Boardwalk LLC $162,000.00 Solutions 101 LLC $171,000.00 Pember Companies $177,000.00 Peterson Companies $181,560.00 CS McCrossan Construction Inc. $206,895.00 Janke General Contractors $212,250.00 Rosti Construction $219,750.00 Blackstone Contractors $235,125.00 Signature Bridge $242,820.00 JTS Construction $270,000.00 Sunram Construction Inc. $294,000.00 Engineer’s Estimate $195,000-$225,000 WHEREAS, the bid of MN Boardwalk LLC, in the amount of $162,000 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. WHEREAS, to connect the boardwalk on each end, certain ancillary improvements are required, including; trail segments, signage, handicap accessible improvements, and a parallel parking area along Variolite Street.
