<br /> <br />2.4.Recommendations from Recent Plans and Studies <br /> <br />A number of recent planning efforts have been completed that identify potential improvements <br />to <br />summarizes their recommendations. <br />2.4.1.Highway 10 Access Planning Study <br /> <br />In 2014, MnDOT completed the Highway 10 Access Planning Study to identify safety and <br />mobility along the US 10 corridor between the Anoka/Sherburne County line and the Rum <br />River. Specifically, the purpose of the study was to identify high-benefit improvements that are <br />fiscally responsible so that improvements can be funded, programmed, and implemented <br />incrementally. The study area was divided into subareas and concepts were developed and <br />evaluated, and recommendations for individual projects were broken into immediate priority, <br />short-term priority projects, mid-term priority projects, and opportunity/development/safety- <br />driven projects. The recommended projects specific to the City of Ramsey include the following: <br />Immediate Priority projects <br /> <br />Construct North Frontage Road from Sunfish Lake Boulevard to Anoka <br /> <br />o <br />Technical College <br />Construct North Frontage Road from Ramsey Boulevard to Sunfish Lake <br /> <br />o <br />Boulevard <br />Construct South Frontage Road from Traprock Street to Ramsey Boulevard <br /> <br />o <br />Short-Term Priority projects <br /> <br />Extend Riverdale Drive east of Tungsten Street (two alignment options) <br /> <br />o <br />Mid-Term Priority projects <br /> <br />Grade separation at Sunfish Lake Boulevard Highway 10 flyover with access or <br /> <br />o <br />overpass with right-turn access <br />Grade separation at Ramsey Boulevard Highway 10 flyover with access or <br /> <br />o <br />overpass with right-turn access <br />Opportunity/Development/Safety Driven Priority projects <br /> <br />Purchase ROW north of US 10 and west of Ramsey Boulevard <br /> <br />o <br />Extend Civic Center Drive to Ramsey Boulevard <br /> <br />o <br />Railroad grade separation at Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br /> <br />o <br />Railroad grade separation at Ramsey Blvd <br /> <br />o <br />Extend 156th Street from Jarvis Street to Alpine Drive <br /> <br />o <br />Construct a Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT) intersection at US 10 and Alpine <br /> <br />o <br />Drive <br />Construct a Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT) intersection at US 10 and Bowers <br /> <br />o <br />Drive <br />Extend Riverdale Drive from Bowers Drive to Llama Street <br /> <br />o <br />2.4.2.Mississippi Skyway Preliminary Engineering Report <br /> <br />In 2014, the City of Ramsey completed the Mississippi Skyway Preliminary Engineering Report <br />to identify potential alignments for a new pedestrian bridge crossing of US 10 near Riverdale <br />Drive.
