Councilmember Hendriksen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02-02-055 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING FINDINGS AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO <br />SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN <br />AMENDMENT TO THE 2001 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on January 15, 2002, the City of Ramsey received a request for an <br />amendment to the Comprehensive Plan from J.R. Land and Cattle Company (the Applicants) for <br />the purpose of amending the land use designation of the following legally described property: <br /> <br />That part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section, 19, Township <br />32, Range 25, Anoka County, Minnesota, lying southwesterly of the southwesterly <br />property line of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Company property. <br /> <br />(the Subject Property) <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan Amendment approved in 2001 shows the <br />subject property's designated land use as places to shop; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on February 7, 2002, conducted a <br />public hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request for an <br />amendment to the Comprehensive Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property has been designated for Places to Shop since the 1980 <br />Comprehensive Plan and has not yet been developed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has determined that changing the land use designation to Places to <br />Work is beneficial to the City as a whole. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves changing the land use designation of the <br /> Subject Property from Places to Shop to Places to Work. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary <br />documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan <br />to designate the Subject Property as Places to Work. <br /> <br />3) That this land use change shall become effective concurrent with the City's receipt of <br /> notification of approval from Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
