Mayor Gamec introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #02-02-059 A RESOLUTION APPROVING LUTZ ACRES AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT TO METROPOLITAN COUNCIL WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received a request for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan from Greg and Diane Becker, Leland Stull, David and Nadine King, Geoffrey Bridwell, and James McChesney (the Applicants) for the purpose of amending the land use designation of the property shown on Attachment A (the Subject Properties); and WHEREAS, the 2001 Comprehensive Plan shows the Subject Properties' designated land use as Low Density Urban Residential; and WHEREAS, the Applicants are requesting that the Subject Properties' designated land use be changed to Medium Density Urban Residential; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission and City Council conducted a public hearing on January 24, 2002 in order to take testimony regarding the proposed land use change; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on February 7, 2002 and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: l) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves changing the land use designation of the Subject Properties from Low Density Urban Residential to Medium Density Urban Residential. 2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan to designate the Subject Properties as Medium Density Residential. 3) That this land use change shall become effective concurrent with the City's receipt of notification of approval from Metropolitan Council.
