Mayor Gamec introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02-02-061 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APROVING NILES PROPERTY NE CORNER OF ALPINE DR. AND <br />HIGHWAY #47 AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENISIVE PLAN AND <br />AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT TO METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey as part of the Comprehensive Plan process has <br />discussed amending the land use designation of the properties shown on Attachment A (the <br />Subject Properties); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 2001 Comprehensive Plan shows the Subject Properties' designated <br />land use as Places to Shop; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has brought forward the idea that the lower one-third of the <br />Subject Properties' remain as Places to Shop, while the northern two-thirds of the Subject <br />Properties' be designated as Medium Density Urban Residential; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission and City Council conducted a public <br />hearing on January 24, 2002 in order to take testimony regarding the proposed land use change; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on February 7, 2002 and <br />recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request for an amendment to the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves changing the land use designation for the <br /> northern two-thirds of the Subject Properties to Medium Density Urban Residential with the <br /> lower one-third of the Subject Properties remaining as Places to Shop. <br /> <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary <br /> documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan <br /> to change the northern two-thirds of the Subject Properties to Medium Density Urban <br /> Residential with the lower one-third of the Subject Properties remaining as Places to Shop. <br /> <br />3) That this land use change shall become effective concurrent with the City's receipt of <br /> notification of approval from Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
