Chairperson Nixt introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02-06-132 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0616 RELATING TO A REQUEST <br />FOR A VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT AN ACCESSORY STRUCTURE NEARER THE <br />FRONT PROPERTY LINE THAN THE PRINCIPAL STRUCTURE AT 16339 <br />1NOWTHEN BLVD. N.W. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Stephen and Ronda Trisko, hereinafter referred to as "Applicants," have <br />properly applied for a variance from Section 9.11.02 of the Ramsey City Code to construct a <br />garage nearer the front property line than the principal structure on the property generally known <br />as 16339 Nowthen Blvd. N.W. and legally described as follows: <br /> <br />Lot 5, Block 1, Oak Run, Anoka County, Minnesota <br />(the "Subject Property") <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing pursuant to Section 9.03.05 of the <br />Ramsey City Code on June 6, 2002, and that said public hearing was properly advertised, and <br />that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated as a part of these findings by <br />reference. <br /> <br />2. That the Subject Property is zoned R-1 Rural Residential and is approximately 1.87 acres in <br /> size. <br /> <br />3. That the Subject Property is surrounded by R-1 Rural Residential zoning developed with <br /> single family homes. <br /> <br />4. That Section 9.11.02 of the Ramsey City Code does not permit the construction of detached <br /> accessory structures nearer the front property line than the principal structure. <br /> <br />5. That the principal structure on the Subject Property is approximately 211 feet from the front <br /> property line. <br /> <br />6. That the Applicants are proposing to construct a garage approximately 160 feet from the <br /> property line. <br /> <br />That the City Code allows for a total of 1,664 square feet of garage and accessory buildings <br />on the Subject Property; there is an existing 680 square foot garage and a 120 square foot <br />storage shed on the property, for a total of 800 square feet; the addition of the proposed 864 <br />square foot garage results in a total of 1,664 square feet, which is in compliance with City <br />Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
