Councihnember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #02-08-182 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />POLICE DEPARTMENTS OF MINNEAPOLIS AND RAMSEY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 109"' annual International Association of Chiefs of Police conference is <br />to be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, October 5 through 9, 2002, inclusive; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis has requested mutual aid from the City of Ramsey <br />in the form of licensed police personnel during those dates; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes provide for the establishment of mutual aid agreements <br />between law enforcement agencies; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a mutual aid agreement has been drafted and submitted to the Ramsey City <br />Attorney who has reviewed and approved as to form said agreement between the two cities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Police Department has available a contingent of officers and <br />equipment necessary to fulfill this agreement. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes its Police Chief to execute the <br /> agreement and to commit officers and equipment as he deems appropriate. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Gamec, <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec <br /> Councilmember Kurak <br /> Councilmember Anderson <br /> Counci hnember Hendriksen <br /> Councilmember ZimmmTnan <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />
