Mayor Gamec introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #02-10-257 RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF THE RAMSEY LIONS CLUB FOR THIRTY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY OF RAMSEY WHEREAS, the Ramsey Lions Club was established in October of 1972 to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey Lions Club has provided outstanding service to this community of Ramsey for thirty years; and WHEREAS, with its current membership of forty, the Ramsey Lions have made numerous contributions to this community, including support of the Ramsey Fire and Police Departments, providing Food Baskets for residents in need during the holiday season, hosting the Community Picnic each year in June, and assisting in the purchase of medical devices for residents in need. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey congratulates the Ramsey Lions on their thirty-year anniversary of service to this community and extends their sincere appreciation for their commitment to service and community involvement. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Auderson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councihnember Anderson Councilmember Hendriksen Councihnember Zimmerman and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None and the following were absent: Councihnember Kurak Resolution #02-10-257 Page 2 of 2
