Councilmember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02-10-277 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF AARON MADSEN TO FULL-TIME <br />PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 13, 2002, Council authorized staff to begin the process to recruit <br />for a full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the position was posted internally with no letters of interest received and <br />then advertised externally and 44 applications were received; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, four candidates were interviewed by a staff panel on October 9, 2002, and <br />the panel has recommended to the Personnel Committee to hire Aaron Madsen for the full-time <br />Public Works Maintenance Worker position. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to hire Aaron Madsen for the full-time Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker position. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That Aaron Madsen will be compensated at an hourly rate of $15.03/hour, will accrue <br />vacation according to City policy, and be required to complete a six-month probationary <br />period. His hiring is contingent on successful completion of background checks, <br />employment physical, and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Hendriksen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councihnember Anderson <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />Councihnember Kurak <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />Nolle <br /> <br /> <br />
