Help Shape the future look of your City. Take part in this Visual Preference Survey hosted by students from the U of M Resilient Communities Project. The survey is intended to get your thoughts on building design for new development in the City, as well as volunteer opportunities. Visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/RAMSEYVPS to get started. Attached to the Weekly Update is the Visual Preference Survey flyer. Volunteer Opportunity: Public Tree Survey. The City of Ramsey, partnering with faculty and students from the University of Minnesota, will be piloting a Public Tree Survey beginning this spring. Trees are an often -overlooked asset of communities, as they provide an array of economic, environmental, personal, and social benefits. As Ramsey continues to grow and develop, updated information on the current boulevard/street trees is needed to help the city create a healthier, more diverse urban forest. The survey will be citizen -science based, giving members of the community an exciting opportunity to engage in a project aimed at improving the quality of the city's urban forest. Volunteers will complete both an indoor training session and a field training session instructed by members of the University. After training, participants will be able to accurately identify species of public trees throughout Ramsey and assess the age class and tree condition ratings as well. Ramsey EDA Business Expo. Join us at the loth Annual Ramsey Business Expo on Saturday, March 31, from 10:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. at The Fountains of Ramsey, 7533 Sunwood Drive NW. Come for an afternoon of fun giveaways and a chance to learn about the products and services of 50 local businesses! Stop by the Rumriver Art Center booth for a fun opportunity to get involved in the City's Comprehensive Plan Update. Decorate a canvas panel and help create a colorful display of our community's vision. Registration is requested at www.cityoframsey.com/ParkEvents. Save the Date: • Remember to Vote April 10! - A Special General Election for the Councilmember At - Large seat will be held on Tuesday, April 10. All 8 polling locations will be open for voting from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm that day. For a list of polling locations, visit our website at www.cityoframsey.com/elections. In -person absentee voting is also available at the Ramsey City Hall Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. On Saturday, April 7 the City Hall will be open for absentee voting from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm and on Monday, April 9 from 8:00 am - until 5:00 pm. • Ramsey Parks & Recreation Programming - Visit www.cityoframsey.com/ParkEvents to register and learn more about current offerings. Highlights this week include Yoga Flow on Monday, March 26 from 12:05 — 12:50 pm at Ramsey City Hall and Candlelight Yoga on Thursday, March 29 from 8:45 — 9:30 pm in the Park Center Building at Central Park.
