Building Safety <br />Month <br />America, along with many <br />other countries, will celebrate <br />Building Safety Month for the <br />38th year this May, 2018. First <br />observed in 1980, Building Safety Month raises awareness of critical safety issues <br />- <br />ing safety: <br />• <br /> Communities <br />• May 6- 12: Advancing Resilient Communities through Science and <br /> Technology <br />• May 13-19: Protecting Communities from Disasters <br />• May 20-26: Safeguarding Our Water <br />• May 27-31: Improving Education and Training Standards for a Safer <br /> Tomorrow <br />Among the 64,000 members of the International Code Council that created <br />builders, engineers, design professionals, contractors and others in the construc- <br />- <br />ing Division who work to ensure the safety of the buildings <br />against building disasters. <br />Safety Month supporter and participant. In Ramsey, <br />Building Permits are required to ensure that all residential <br />construction in the City complies with the latest adopt- <br />ed version of the Minnesota State Building Code (2015) <br />Division reviews submitted construction plans prior to <br />issuing a permit to determine if the plans comply with the <br />issued, periodic on-site inspections of the construction are <br />performed in order to verify compliance with the approved <br />plans, applicable building codes and municipal ordinances. <br />Building codes save lives by incorporating the latest tech- <br />nology and providing the safest, most resilient structures <br />for our families and communities. <br />Everyone is encouraged to participate and learn about <br />the essentials of building safety.
