Meeting Date: 04/24/2018 By: Mark Riverblood, Engineering/Public Works Information Title: Consider Authorization of 2018 Parks Capital Improvement Project(s) Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to approve or advance five projects referenced by the 2018-2027 Capital Improvement Program (within pages 195 to 203, as posted on the City's web site: http://www.ci.ramsey.mn.us/DocumentCenterNiew/242 Staff will provide a more detail description of the aforementioned Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects for the meeting. Notification: City Council conducted a Public Hearing on the City-wide 2018-2027 Capital Improvement Program. Observations/Alternatives: Funding Source: The attached CIP worksheets specify the anticipated project cost (estimate), and funding source, with the exception of the aeration projects for Sunfish Lake and The Draw —staff is requesting this project be authorized for project development, including the determination as to it's eligibility to be funded by the Lawful Gambling Fund. Recommendation: The Park and Recreation Commission recommended on February 8th, 2018 that these park capital improvements move forward as this case discusses, and Staff recommends proceeding as indicated in the sample motion below. Action: Motion to approve the four park projects this case discusses, for development/construction, at a not -to -exceed amount and funding source specified within the Capital Improvement Plan worksheets; and authorize staff to proceed with the project development for the aeration project(s) for Sunfish Lake and The Draw .
