Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #18-071 <br />RESOLUTION HIRING SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS <br />AND TEMPORARY INTERNS <br />WHEREAS, annually the City employs Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers to <br />perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works and Interns to work in <br />Administrative Services, Community Development, Engineering, and Parks; and <br />WHEREAS, staff selected two qualified semi -entry level seasonal candidates and five <br />qualified interns; and <br />WHEREAS, all candidates have passed the pre -employment screenings; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff recommends hiring the 2018 seasonal and temporary employees. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution #18-171 to hire the following employees on or near the dates <br />listed below: <br />Semi -entry level seasonal employees: Tim Barrett and Tom Marks, effective April 5, <br />2018 at $17.33 per hour with a wage increase to $17.42 per hour effective July 1, 2018; <br />and <br />Temporary Interns: Administrative Intern, Heather Mohr, effective, May 15, 2018 at <br />$13.00 per hour; Engineering Intern, Brandon Jensen, effective May 8, 2018 at $13.00 <br />per hour; Engineering Intern, Hannah Hoekman, effective May 29, 2018 at $13.00 per <br />hour; Parks & Recreation Intern, Eric Chuba, effective, April 16, 2018 at $13.00 per <br />hour; and Planning Intern, PeggySue Imihy, effective April 9, 2018 at $14.00 per hour. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />
