<br />Special Joint Work Session (City Council, Planning Commission and Economic <br />Development Authority) (5:30 pm – CC <br /> <br /> <br />Review Vision for West-end of The COR <br /> <br /> <br />Discuss Three Preliminary Project Proposals <br /> <br />Council Update <br /> <br />Candidate Filing Opens. <br />Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 8:00 a.m., marks the opening of candidate <br />filing for Council seats that are up for election this year as well as those that have been vacated. <br />Persons may file for the following seats: Mayor – partial terms (two years); Councilmember At- <br />Large, Councilmember Ward 1 and Councilmember Ward 3 – full, four-year terms, and <br />Councilmember Ward 4 – partial term (two years). Filings are done during the regular business <br />hours of 8:00 to 4:30, Monday through Friday. City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 28, in <br />observance of Memorial Day. Filings close on Tuesday, June 5, and as per State Statute, City <br />offices will be open until 5:00 p.m. on that last day. The fee to file is $5. Please contact Jo Thieling, <br />City Clerk at 763-433-9840 or jthieling@cityoframsey.com if you have questions. <br /> <br />CenterPoint Energy Community Partnership Grant. <br />In early May of 2018, The Ramsey Police <br />Department submitted an application to CenterPoint Energy Community Partnership program on <br />behalf of the City of Ramsey for the purchase of two portable radar speed feedback signs. These <br />units are similar to the permanent speed feedback sign in use on Sunwood Dr. near Rhinestone St. <br />These portable speed feedback signs could be loaned out to residents who have speed complaints <br />in their neighborhoods. The Ramsey Police Department receives several traffic complaints a year <br />and deploys the police speed/radar trailer in areas throughout the city to slow down traffic. The <br />radar speed trailer is in high demand especially during the summer months and often there is a <br />waiting list for its use. This week the Police Department received notification the City of Ramsey <br />Attached to the Weekly Update is the Center <br />was awarded the Community Partnership Grant. <br />Point Energy Community Partnership Grant Notification Letter. <br /> <br /> <br />Environmental Policy Board Resignation. <br /> Staff received a letter of resignation dated May 11, <br />2018, form EPB member Tom Stodola. Mr. Stodola stated that he is resigning his post on the <br />Environmental Policy Board because he is moving out of the city. He stated that he enjoyed the <br />10 years on the board and is very thankful for the other board members that he has worked with, as <br />well as the tireless work that staff liaison Chris Anderson devotes to the causes. Coincidently, <br />following the May 8, 2018, board and commission interviews, the City Council directed staff to <br />reach out to board and commission applicant, Mr. Michael Madison in the event of an unexpected <br />opening. Staff contacted Mr. Madison and he is very interested in the serving the Environmental <br />Policy Board.
