Information Title Receive and Accept petition for Stop Sign Request for the Intersection of 169th Lane and Garnet St Purpose/Background: Staff has received a petition from the neighborhood in the vicinity of 169th Ln and Garnet St requesting that the city install stop signs on both legs of Garnet St. The residents stated in their petition that they feel that the stop signs are important to protect the safety of their families. Considering this intersection is a bus stop providing additional safety to our children is of utmost importance. The signatures on the petition have been verified as the property owners using Anoka County's website - Property Tax Informaiton. Notification: Staff has contact information for the group and will inform them of the date and time of the June PW Committee, where the results of the traffic study and staff recommendation will be presented. Recommendation: Staff recommendation is council formally receive the petition from the residents near the intersection of 169th Lane/Garnet St. Staff also recommends that council direct the PW staff to collect the appropriate traffic information for the intersection and present those facts along with the staff recommendation at the June PW Committee meeting.
