January 6, 2005
To: Ramsey Planning Commiision Members; City Council Members

From: Ramsey Residents affected by the Shade Tree Cottages and .the Rum River
Meadows Sketch Plan Applications

Subject: Ramsey residents in close proximity to the proposed Shade Tree Cottages and
the Rum River Meadows development prOjects feel the SUbmitted sketch plans are not
satisfactory and do not meet the needs of our community.

Following, for your consideration, are a number 0f requests, suggestions, Criticisms
and comments pertinent to the subject matter. Hopefully these items will enable you to
generate and approve a comprehensive pian which will enhance the development of the
City of Ramsey and be suitable to RamSey residents in the immediate vicinity.

1) It is requested that zoning remain R-1 in both developments. This approach also allows the developments to be completed using
already established codes and guidelines without the need for variances.

2) R-I zoning will provide nice lots with nice homes to make Ramsey a more
desirable place to live.

3) R-I zoning (by reducing the number of buildings) will maximize the amount of
ground available for water (rain & Snow) percolation· This will help maintain
