Member Kiefer noted he had requested a discussion with Bruce Bacon be placed on a future agenda during the October 13th meeting. Associate Planner Wald replied she contacted Mr. Bacon to inform him of the request and it will likely be on the agenda of the January or February meeting. Motion carried. EDA BUSINESS Case #1: Development Signs Associate Planner Wald reviewed with the EDA that at the October 13, 2004 EDA meeting, the authority directed staff to solicit input from EDAM members related to language ideas for economic development signs. Staff sent a mass email to all EDAM members asking if anyone has utilized signs that promote City initiated economic development projects. Staff received several emails stating that such a sign would be a great idea but nobody had an existing economic development sign. Several cities utilize land use or zoning signs to signify a land use application has been submitted to the City. She reviewed a flyer received in the mail, and an email with suggestions received from Mike Mulrooney. Staff recommends that the EDA make a determination on appropriate language to be contained on the signs and direct staff to begin working with TJ & Associates. It is important to establish language that reflects the intent and purpose the signs are intended to'serve. The consensus of the EDA was that the signs should include the following language: Community Revitalization at Work City of Ramsey Economic Development Authority Case #2: Monument Signs Economic DevelopmentJTIF Specialist Sullivan reviewed with the EDA that staff presented sign types to the EDA on September 8, 2004 and the EDA identified three types of signs that they preferred. Staff was directed to research the cost involved with the preferred signs and to present the information to the EDA. The Brock White Company of Elk River constructed the signs selected by the EDA, and all quotes are provided from that business. It has been discussed that it may be beneficial to light the signs. He presented the EDA with samples of Indiana Limestone and Kasota Limestone for their review. He indicated the signs range in price from $9,430 to $12,765. Staff would like direction on the verbiage for the signs, as well as to proceed. Acting Chairperson Steffen asked how many signs there would be.
