Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #18-093 RESOLUTION HIRING SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKERS WHEREAS, annually the City employs Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works; WHEREAS, staff selected one qualified semi-entry level seasonal candidates; and WHEREAS , staff selected five entry level seasonal candidates; and WHEREAS, all candidates have passed the pre-employment screenings; and WHEREAS, Staff recommends hiring the selected 2018 candidates listed below. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: Motion to adopt resolution #18-093 to hire the following employees on or near the dates listed below: 1. Semi-entry level seasonal employee: Jake Marks, effective April 30, 2018 at $17.33 per hour with a wage increase to $17.42 per hour effective July 1, 2018; and 2. Entry level seasonal employees: Jerry Hutchinson, effective April 23, 2018 at $11.00 per hour; Justyne Schake, effective May 3, 2018 at $11.00 per hour; Brandon Frankfurth, effective June 4, 2018 at $11.00 per hour; Tanner McIntire-Linder, effective June 13, 2018 at $11.00 per hour. Returning for second year or greater: Brad Beaver, effective May 14, 2018 at $11.50 per hour. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Acting Mayor LeTourneau Councilmember Johns Councilmember Kuzma Councilmember Riley Councilmember Shryock and the following voted against the same: None
