<br />Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #18-102 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTIAL PAYMENT TO KILLMER ELECTRIC CO. <br />INC., FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #17-06; INSTALLATION OF EMERGENCY <br />GENERATOR FOR WELL # 3 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />City staff proposes to install a diesel generator for Well# 3 to increase <br />pumping capacity during extended power outages to meet daily water demand, per the 2017 - 2026 <br />Capital Improvement Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City will purchase the generator through the National Joint Powers <br />Alliance at a substantial savings at the total cost of $53,684.61; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />requests for proposals were submitted to three contractors for the purpose of <br />obtaining quotes for completing the proposed services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />quotes were received from three contractors on October 17, 2017, and were <br />found to comply with the request for proposals; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #17-11-263 adopted November <br />14, 2017, the bid of Killmer Electric Co. Inc., in the amount of $90,500.00 for the total bid is the <br />lowest responsible bidder; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> as of the May 22, 2018, $9,661.50 has been paid to date; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , Bolton and Menk, Inc. has inspected the completed work and recommends <br />partial payment to Killmer Electric Co. Inc., in the amount of $41,192.00. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, AND STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to Killmer Electric Co. Inc., for <br />Improvement Project 17-06 Installation of Emergency Generator for Well #3 in the amount of <br />$41,192.00. <br /> <br /> <br />2)That the City Council hereby accepts the completed work and authorizes the Mayor or City <br />Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. <br /> <br /> <br />3)That the total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of <br />bills for the date of May 22, 2018. <br /> <br /> <br />4)That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this <br />resolution <br />of Ramsey. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #18-102 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
