CC Regular Session 4. 10.
Meeting Date: 03/13/2018
By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative
Services
Information
Title
Adopt Resolution #18-054 Updating the City's Personnel Policy
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to request the City Council to authorize staff to update the City's Personnel Policy.
The City Council discussed several proposed updates to the Personnel Policy on February 12, 2018 and February
27, 2018. Employees included in a collective bargaining agreement entered into in
accordance with the Public Employment Labor Relations Act (PELRA) are exempt from any provision of the policy
that is inconsistent with such agreement.
The focus of the proposed updates are primarily driven in order maintain a legally compliant policy -- reducing risk
to the City; to more clearly define respectful employee conduct and processes for reporting unacceptable conduct;
and to provide a defensible reference to which applicable employees or others shall be held accountable.
Sections within the policy containing substantive changes are listed below.
