5) ConsiderAuthoriZation Reassignment of Public Works Leadworker and Public <br /> Works MaintenanCe Worker.to Utilities Division <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson'reviewed that during the 2005 budget process, staff <br />discussed with Council the reorganiZatiOn 0f'thc Public Works Department to three divisions of <br />Parks, Utilities, and Streets. These position re-assignments are the first in thc process of creating <br />divisions within Public Works, Council wi!l be updated regularly on the process and future re- <br />assignments or promotions will; be brought 'forward to Council for approval. Staff conducted an <br />internal recruitment for the POsitiOns, three applications were received and' interviews'were <br />conducted. She explained the two additional Public Works Maintenance Worker positions <br />approved in the 2005 budget will be hired to serve the Parks Division of Public Works. Job <br />descriptions for each of the divisions have been uPdated to. reflect thc changes, however it is <br />important to note, that each job descripti°n requires cross-training in support of Parks, Streets, <br />and Utilities, as well as including snow-ploWing/removal duties for all positions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated staff is recommending reassigning John NelsOn to the <br />position of Public Works utilities Leadworker 'and Jerome Dube to the position of Public <br />Utilities Maintenance Worker effective 0(1/12/2005. There are no funding requirements for these <br />reassi~,mments as pay Scale adjuStmentS are not recommended at this time. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, ~eC°nded by Councilmember Elvig, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee for Cases 3 through 5 to adopt Resolution #05-01- <br />018 to authorize staff to hire Stephen Burnham to the position of Building Inspector at an hourly <br />rate of $21.91. Mr. Burnham's start date will be January-I2, 2005, and to authorize.staff to hire <br />Scott Jensen to the position of Building Inspector at an hourly rate of $21.91. Mri Jensen's start <br />date will be January 13, 2005; to adopt l~esolution #05-01-019 approving the following pay scale <br />adjustments: <br /> <br />POSITION <br />Police Captain <br />Zoning/Recyc. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />6) Consider Pay Scale of Adjustment of Assistant City Administrator Position <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced he attended the persOnnel Committee meeting tO discuss the position <br />of the Assistant City Administrator.
