<br />Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #18-166 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONFIRMING USES OF EXISTING ACCESSORY BUILDING ON THE <br />PROPERTY IDENTIFIED BY PID #22-32-25-23-0002 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> there is an existing accessory building on the property located at the southeast <br />corner of the intersection of Ramsey Boulevard and Alpine Drive, identified by PID #22-32-25-23- <br />0002 (the “Subject Property”) but no principal structure; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />a Building Permit was issued for the accessory building in the late 1970s when the <br />Subject Property was under the same ownership as the adjacent property located at 15443 Ramsey Blvd <br />NW; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Subject Property was sold separately from the adjacent land and is now under <br />separate ownership and is now a stand-alone parcel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , the Subject Property is for sale and the City has received multiple inquiries about <br />the potential use(s) of the accessory building; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> Staff has received a written request from a potential buyer seeking to use the <br />accessory building for both personal storage and for motor vehicle repair; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , Staff’s interpretation of City Code would allow the use of the lawful, non- <br />conforming accessory building for personal storage only with no commercial uses. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1.That the Ramsey City Council hereby confirms and supports Staff’s interpretation of City Code <br />relating the use of the accessory building on the Subject Property as follows: <br /> <br />a.The accessory building may be used by the property owner for personal storage only. <br /> <br />b.That no commercial use(s), including motor vehicle repairs, shall be conducted on the <br />Subject Property. <br /> <br />c.That no Home Occupation can occur on the Subject Property until such time that a home <br />is constructed and only in compliance with City Code Section 117-351 (Home <br />Occupations), with the approval of the City. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Shryock, <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Acting Mayor LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> <br /> <br />
