April 25, 2018 I Volume 12 I Issue 8 Zoning Bulletin <br />HAWAII <br />The Hawaii County Council has failed to advance a bill that would <br />have amended the zoning code to provide a 75-foot buffer zone be- <br />tween rooster farms and neighboring properties. Opponents of the bill <br />reportedly argued that it would have infringed on rural lifestyles. Sup- <br />porters of the bill were neighbors of large rooster fauns who claimed <br />their life and health were being impacted by the noise of the rooster <br />fauns. <br />Source: US News; www. usnews. com <br />OHIO <br />New Philadelphia is considering a proposed ordinance that would <br />regulate wind turbines, including, among other things, by requiring a <br />"one and half times the height setback" for wind turbines.
