City Administrator Ulrich noted that the next step would be for staff to sit down with Aldi and <br />the next step for the EDA would be to consider the purchase agreement when that moves <br />forward. <br />Member Riley stated that from the EDA and City standpoint, the statement is made that the City <br />is business friendly. He noted that the last hour was spent talking about a $1,500 incentive and <br />comments have been made that perhaps Aldi is not welcome. He stated that those may be some <br />of the reasons that businesses are hesitant to come to Ramsey. <br />Member Hardin stated that an hour was not spent talking about a $1,500 subsidy but the <br />fiduciary responsibility of the City when writing policy. <br />Member Kanaventi stated that perhaps it would be helpful to remind the EDA of their purpose <br />and the purpose of the Planning Commission as he does not want to waste time talking about <br />matters that do not pertain to the EDA. <br />5. MEMBER / STAFF UPDATE <br />5.01: Business Retention and Expansion Update <br />City Administrator Ulrich reviewed the businesses that have been visited since the last meeting <br />and provided a summary. <br />5.02: Receive Update on Ramsey Brewery; Case of Tim and Corrin O'Shaughnessy <br />Community Development Director Gladhill provided an update on the potential Ramsey <br />Brewery. He stated that the case will work its way through the cycle if formally applied for this <br />summer. <br />5.03: Other Updates <br />Community Development Director Gladhill noted that the Economic Development Manager <br />posting closed this past week. He stated that staff will complete first interviews next week and <br />will then complete second interviews. He stated that the intent would be to have the new <br />employee hired by mid -July or early August. <br />Communications and Events Coordinator who will begin on June 23rd. He noted that the City <br />will also be repairing the City of Ramsey sign at North Forks. <br />Member LeTourneau thanked the RCP members for being present today and completing the <br />work that they did.
