CC Work Session 2. 2.
Meeting Date: 09/11/2018
Information
Title:
Staff Update on 6401 Highway 10 Parking Lot Improvements
Purpose/Background:
The old Shell Gas Station at 6401 Highway 10 was demolished in the fall of 2017. This work included demolition
of the gas station building, the pump canopy, and much of the pavement in and around the site. Following the
demolition work, the parking lot was brought up to grade using class 5 aggregate base, allowing vehicles to navigate
the entire site. Since then, Staff has been working with Hakason Anderson to develop plans for paving the parking
lot to allow for expanded parking for the adjacent businesses. This parking lot improvement project was previously
being led by Patrick Brama, but upon Mr. Brama's departure, other Staff were unable to move the project along
quickly due to other work commitments. However, Hakanson Anderson recently completed a set of plans, which
are attached to this case.
Staff would like to discuss the proposed improvements with Council to better understand their thoughts on the order
of magnitude of costs that would be supported for such improvements, which could be considered temporary in
nature due to the proposed Highway 10 improvements. Additional information will be presented during work
session.
Timeframe:
Staff anticipates 15 minutes will be needed to present and discuss this case.
Funding Source:
Responsible Party(ies):
Community Development Director and City Engineer.
Outcome:
Consensus direction on how to proceed with paving improvements to this property.
Plans IP18-11
Attachments
Form Review
Inbox Reviewed By Date
Kurt Ulrich Kurt Ulrich 09/06/2018 04:41 PM
Form Started By: Bruce Westby Started On: 09/06/2018 04:02 PM
Final Approval Date: 09/06/2018
