Commuting Trends <br />Twin Cities' residents are increasingly using options other than cars to travel. Per -capita <br />vehicle miles traveled remains below the peak set in 2004. Transit ridership and the <br />percentage of people who bicycle and walk have grown in recent years. E-commerce, <br />telecommuting and flex -hours also influence how people travel. As access to high speed <br />internet grows, more and more people will have the option to shop, see a doctor, or work <br />online.
