Transit Oriented Development (TOD) <br />Transit Oriented Development supports both <br />redevelopment and new construction that enhances <br />transit usage. Support projects and developments that <br />generally: enhance transit usage, increase density along <br />transit corridors, reinforce both the community and the <br />transit system, exhibit a compact and efficient use of <br />available space, rather than auto -oriented sprawl, <br />contain a diversity and mix of uses with daily <br />conveniences and transit at the center, support <br />pedestrian -friendly physical design that encourages <br />walking, bicycling and access for people with physical <br />disabilities, and are within a comfortable walking <br />distance to transit <br />Southwest and Bottineau <br />Investment Frameworks <br />Investment frameworks identifying infrastructure (roads, <br />sidewalks, bicycle facilities, sewer and water) needs by <br />opening day of service were developed for the METRO <br />Green Line (Southwest) extension and the METRO Blue <br />Line (Bottineau) extension. The purpose was to identify <br />infrastructure requirements to aid in transitioning the <br />station areas into transit oriented development (TOD) <br />districts. <br />28 <br />
