CC Regular Session 4. 6. <br />Meeting Date: 08/06/2018 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #18-165 to Hire a Permit Technician Filling the Vacant Position <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The Purpose of this case is to request authorization to hire a full-time Permit Technician to work in the Community <br />Development Department. This position primarily reviews and processes permit applications for new and existing <br />residential and commercial construction, issues permits for all phases of construction projects and researches and <br />updates permit records and files. <br />This full-time vacancy was created when Ms. Katy Hauan, the former Building Inspections Technician, resigned. <br />The Building Inspections Technician position served the role of Permit Technician; however, with other changes in <br />the Community Development Department, staff recommends reducing the positions duties down to a Permit <br />Technician level. In order to fill the current vacancy, an internal, followed by an external recruitment process was <br />conducted.
