lour 1111.1siion: To work together to reiposihty grow our community, and to provide quality, coat -effective, and efficient government ierrlcas. <br />Canvassing Board <br />Meeting Date: 08/17/2018 <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Declare the Results of the August 14, 2018 Primary Election <br />4. 1. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: The purpose of this case is to accept and declare the results of the August 14, 2018 Primary Election. <br />Background: As per State Statutes, the City Council must serve as a Canvassing Board to accept and declare the <br />results of a local election. The Primary Election was held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, and the City's eight polling <br />places were open for voting from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The residents also had the opportunity to vote absentee if <br />they chose, either at Ramsey City Hall, at Anoka County Elections Department, or by mail. <br />The voter turnout for the Primary Election, including absentee votes, was about 20 percent. Attached to this case is <br />the Abstract of Votes Cast. Also attached for your infomration is the 2018 Results Spreadsheet for Anoka County. <br />The local portion of the Primary Election ballot was to determine which of the mayoral candidates and which of the <br />Councilmember Ward 4 candidates would proceed to the General Ballot. The vote totals for the three candidates for <br />Mayor are as follows: John LeTourneau - 1562, Richard Wulf - 808 and Andy Hillebregt 610. The vote totals for <br />the three candidates for Councilmember Ward 4 are as follows: Debra Musgrove - 364, Ralph Brauer - 166 and <br />Skip Carlson - 154.
