This year, we had ten more expo booths,
seven more parade floats, 65 more 5K and Youth Fun Run participants, six more cars entered to
the car show and 11 more riders in the bike tour compared to 2017. The City would also like to
thank Stone Brook Academy for sponsoring a new event – the Ice Cream Social! We would also
like to thank The Kitchen Table for hosting a familiar favorite, the pancake breakfast. We hope
these can be fun, family-friendly Happy Days events that will return year after year. The City is
always looking for Happy Days sponsors and volunteers. To sponsor an event or to volunteer for
an event next year contact Event Coordinator Megan Thorstad at 763-433-9831 or
mthorstad@cityoframsey.com. Questions or concerns about the Happy Days event can also be
directed to Megan.

Volunteer Tree Survey Training.
Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22. Last chance! Do
you like the outdoors? Have a passion for trees? Looking for a chance to get involved with the
community? We may just have the answer for you. The City of Ramsey is conducting a survey
public
of its trees to get a sense of the number, type, and condition of the trees in its urban forest.
The survey will take place over the remainder of summer/fall 2018 and the summer of 2019 and
will be completed entirely by volunteers! Volunteers need to attend and complete two sessions of
training to learn how to identify tree species, determine age-class, and rate the condition of trees
in the community. Training is completed in two parts, one indoor session and one outdoor session.
Once trained, volunteers will work in teams to help conduct a citywide tree inventory/survey.
