120 <br />Strategy: Ensure that discrimination does not occur against persons seeking housing in <br />Ramsey based on age, religion, race, ethnic origin, sexual preference, gender, status with <br />regard to public assistance, marital or familial status, or disability. <br />Policies and Actions: <br />• Create a Fair Housing Policy for the City <br />Strategy: Expand fair housing choice and access throughout the City <br />Policies and Actions: <br />1. Direct developers to the Affirmative Marketing Toolkit from the Fair Housing MN Resource <br />Guide to make it easier for providers to meet federal requirements for planning fair housing <br />2. Direct those seeking assistance with housing programs to Minnesota Housing programs <br />3. Provide clear, concise, and easy to access fair housing information and resources <br />4. Support and collaborate on the expansion of fair housing work throughout the region, <br />including the 7 county metropolitan area, and those outside the metropolitan area <br />5. Participate in regional collaboration to eliminate fair housing barriers, including completing <br />a fair housing assessment every five years (at minimum) which is informed by resident and <br />stakeholder engagement <br />An Active Community <br />Strategy: Plan for multi -family and senior residential developments near transit, bicycle <br />routes, trails, sidewalks, etc. in order to reduce building footprints, energy consumption, <br />and reliance on automobiles. <br />Policies and Actions: <br />1. Allow flexibility in regulations for multi -family or senior housing projects near Northstar <br />Commuter Rail Station <br />2. Create and maintain a policy that allows for density bonuses for new projects in The COR <br />that provide additional public amenities, such as open space dedication or affordable <br />housing, in exchange for densities greater than the Zoning Ordinance typically would allow <br />Strategy: Ensure new development projects support an active lifestyle. <br />Policies and Actions: <br />1. Continue to require internal trails and sidewalks on adjacent roads for new residential <br />development projects <br />2. Continue to require sidewalks on adjacent roads for all non-residential development <br />projects <br />3. Encourage new residential development projects to include items such as bike racks, bike <br />storage, workout centers, and showers <br />Strategy: Support all types of active lifestyles, including children, seniors, differently-abled, <br />disabled and families. <br />Policies and Actions: <br />1.
