46 <br />Transportation Background <br />The City of engaged the services of WSB Associates to complete a Transportation Plan on behalf of <br />the City. The Transportation Plan is included in the Comprehensive Plan Update by reference. <br />Transportation Priorities <br />Ramsey has several transportation priorities highlighted in the Transportation Plan. Detailed <br />planning efforts are planned for each of these main corridors. <br />• Highway 10 <br />• Highway 47 <br />• Mississippi River Crossing <br />• Nowthen Boulevard <br />• Armstrong Boulevard <br />• Green Valley Road <br />• 181st Avenue <br />Ramsey hopes to have Corridor Plans completed for each of these corridors by 2023. <br />Introduction <br />The transportation system in Ramsey generally operates well today. The city's multimodal <br />transportation system includes facilities for vehicles, freight, walking, bicycling and transit. <br />Facilities are operated by a number of agencies, including the City of Ramsey, Anoka County, the <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), Metro Transit, and the Burlington Northern <br />Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway. <br />This transportation chapter has been prepared in compliance with State of Minnesota Statutes and <br />applicable Metropolitan Council guidelines. As part of this Plan, the city has reviewed existing and <br />future conditions for each mode and identified safety, operations, and network improvements that <br />will be important to address over the 2040 planning horizon.
