<br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #18-179 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL PAYMENT TO PEARSON BROTHERS, INC. <br />FOR 2018 CRACK SEAL AND SEAL COAT PROGRAM, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />#18-04 <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2018 including $500,000 to <br />crackseal and sealcoat various public streets as part of the City’s annual Street Maintenance <br />Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City Engineer prepared plans and specifications for the purpose of <br />advertising for bids for the same improvements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #18-027, adopted January <br />23, 2018, the City Council approved final plans and specifications and authorized <br />advertisements for bids for said improvements, including a base bid and three alternate bids; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />bids were received, opened, and tabulated on February 20, 2018; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #18-048, adopted February <br />27, 2018, bids were accepted and the bid of Pearson Brothers, Inc. of Hanover, Minnesota, in <br />the amount of $434,699.22 for the total bid for construction of said improvements, which <br />included the base bid and three alternate bids, in accordance with the approved plans and <br />specifications and advertisement for bids was accepted, and the Mayor and City Administrator <br />were authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for the construction of <br />said improvements for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #18-125, adopted June 26, <br />2018, the City Council approved change order #1, to help minimize the amount of loose rock <br />remaining on streets after the project is complete, Pearson Brothers, Inc. has agreed to apply <br />CRS-2P oil on all street segments proposed to be sealcoated in 2018, in place of the CRS-2 oil <br />that was bid with the project, for an additional construction cost of $2,858.25 based on <br />estimated bid quantities. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />as of August 28, 2018 $0 has been paid to date; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Senior Engineering Technician has inspected the completed work and <br />recommends partial payment to Pearson Brothers, Inc. for Improvement Project 18-04, Crack <br />Seal and Seal Coat Program in the amount of $421,540.27. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />
