CC Work Session 2. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 11/13/2018 <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Continued Discussion of 2019-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The 2019-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) has been prepared as a strategic planning tool to assist the City <br />Council in identifying proposed capital improvement projects over the next ten years. The CIP is broken down into <br />the following categories: Capital Improvement Bonding Projects, Capital Equipment, Municipal Buildings, Park <br />Improvements, Sewer Improvements, Storm Water Improvements, Street Improvements, Street Light <br />Improvements and Water Improvements. <br />Each project includes preliminary funding sources and appropriate background information citing needs and <br />projected cost estimates. <br />A supplemental section titled 'Future Consideration Projects' has also been included. This is a listing of park projects <br />that are contingent upon availability of resources. These projects are unfunded and unscheduled until resources <br />become available. <br />Council was presented a draft copy of the 2019-2028 CIP at its worksession of October 23, 2018. Discussion arose <br />at this meeting in regards to the inclusion of a water treatment facility in this document due to the uncertainty of <br />need and the type of treatment - groundwater or surface water. The work session ended with Acting Mayor <br />LeTourneau confirming the consensus of the Council to leave the item on the CIP to allow additional discussion. <br />Thus, the purpose of the November 13 worksession. <br />The CIP must be formally adopted after a public hearing is held. <br />Staff is proposing the following schedule for the adoption of the 2019-2028 CIP: <br />November 13 - Council worksession to further review CIP inclusions <br />November 27- City Council meeting Schedule Public Hearing Date of December 11 <br />December 11 - Public Hearing & Adopt 2019-2028 CIP <br />Timeframe: <br />30 minutes <br />Funding Source: <br />
