Subject to the policy provisions, employees can participate <br />based upon the approval by the department head , the HR manager, and City Administrator. Tuition reimbursement <br />requests by the City Administrator are submitted to the City Council for approval. <br />Notification: <br />Not applicable <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />The requested course is a required course toward a degree program of public administration. This course is an <br />independent study course focusing research on a relevant public issue of concern. The City's reimbursement for <br />degree program requires that the course be for the purpose of advanced skill development, and that the course is <br />job -related and deemed to be a benefit to the employer. <br />Funding Source: <br />The 50% tuition expense would be allocated from budgeted administrative training and professional development. <br />The employee is responsible for the other 50% of the cost. <br />Recommendation: <br />It is recommended that the Council approve the tuition reimbursement request for Fall semester 2018 as outlined in <br />the attached Tuition Reimbursement form. <br />Action: <br />Motion to approve the tuition reimbursement request for the City Administrator for Fall Semester 2018. <br />Tuition Reimbursement Request 2018 <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Inbox Reviewed By Date <br />
