CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 11/13/2018 <br />Submitted For: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />4. 8. <br />Information <br />Title <br />Approve Request to Declare Surplus Property <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Staff is requesting Council declare the following property surplus and authorize sale/disposal of same: <br />2002 Ford F150 <br />VIN# 2FTRX18W52CA57047 <br />Mileage 129,427 <br />This vehicle was replaced as part of the 2018 budget process. <br />Staff is requesting Council also declare the following Fire Department property surplus and authorize disposal of <br />same: <br />60 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) bottles <br />30 Harnesses <br />The equipment was used for firefighter respiratory protection. Respiratory protection is used not only in fires but <br />also in environments where chemicals are present or oxygen is absent. The SCBA's have reached their 15-year life <br />expectancy and have been replaced in the 2018 budget. Chief Kohner is requesting authorization to donate the <br />surplus inventory to the Anoka Secondary Technical Education Program (S.T.E.P.) for education purposes. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends Council declare the above named vehicle as surplus and authorize sale/auction of same. <br />Staff recommends Council declare the above named Fire Department equipment as surplus and authorize donation <br />of same. <br />Action: <br />Motion to declare the following item as surplus and authorize sale/auction of same: <br />2002 Ford F150 <br />VIN# 2FTRX18W52CA57047 <br />Mileage 129,427 <br />- and - <br />Motion to declare the following Fire Department equipment items as surplus and authorize donation of same: <br />60 SCBA bottles <br />30 Harnesses <br />
