5.02: Public Hearing: Review Site Plan and Conditional Use Permit Allowing Outdoor <br />Storage as a Principal Use at 9500 156th Avenue NW; Case of Rain for Rent <br />Public Hearing <br />Chairperson Bauer called the public hearing to order at 7:11 p.m. <br />Presentation <br />Community Development Director Gladhill presented the staff report stating the purpose of this <br />case is to review the proposed conditional use permit site plan for Rain for Rent to expand their <br />business onto the currently vacant lot located at 9500 156th Ave NW. The subject property is just <br />over 2.3 acres and is zoned E-1 Employment District. Outdoor storage as a principal use is <br />allowed via conditional use permit in the E-1 District. <br />Citizen Input <br />Commissioner Anderson asked what the rumble strip was for. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill reported the rumble strip was being required to <br />remove gravel from tires prior to leaving the site. <br />Brad Duffy, Branch Manager for Rain for Rent, thanked the Commission for their consideration <br />and stated he looked forward to continuing to grow his business in the City or Ramsey. <br />Motion by Commissioner Gengler, seconded by Commissioner Woestehoff, to close the public <br />hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bauer, Commissioners Gengler, Woestehoff, <br />Anderson, Onyambu, and Surma. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner VanScoy. <br />Chairperson Bauer closed the public hearing closed at 7:16 p.m. <br />Commission Business <br />Commissioner Anderson questioned if the proposed gravel surface would be Class 5. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill reported this was the case. <br />Motion by Commissioner Gengler, seconded by Commissioner Woestehoff, to recommend that <br />City Council adopt Resolution #18-200 for Site Plan and a Conditional Use Permit at 9500 156th <br />Avenue NW allowing Outdoor Storage as a Principal Use contingent upon compliance with the <br />Staff Review and City Engineer approval. <br />Planning Commission/October 4, 2018 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />
