Neither of the signs would project from the wall more than six (6)inChes. The City has, in the past, granted conditional Use Permits for signs larger than allowed under City Ordinances. The Planning Commission conducted a pub!ie hearing regarding Leroy Signs' request on February 3, 2005 and there was n0:public i~pUt; ;However,-there was some dlscussion regarding the appropriateness of the proposed sign size. :Due to the fact that this is a large, single tenant building, Staff believes that that the increasedSign size is not only proportionate to the building fagade but is also appropriate in terms ofscaJe. · Recommendation: The Planning Commission recommended aPVroval of the request by a 3-2 vote. City staff is also recommending approval of the request to exceed the sign size restrictions. Council Action: Motion to adopt findings of fact relating to ?roy Signs, Inc. request for a conditional use permit to exceed sign size restrictions established in City Code. -and- Motion to approve Leroy Signs, Inc. reques~ to exceed sign size restrictions based on the findings of fact, and adopt a resolution declaring terms Of conditional use permit. -or- Motion to deny Leroy Signs, Inc. request to exceed sign size restrictions as proposed, based on the findings of fact.
